Host Nation Welcome Zone
IAC08 Host Nation Welcome Zone

The International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is the most influential space congress and exhibition in the world. From 29th September to 3rd October 2008 the IAC will take place in Glasgow at the SECC.

As part of the planning for IAC08, a significant number of UK exhibitors and organisations have decided to invest in a dedicated area within the exhibition hall for UK based organisations. The area is in the centre of the exhibition hall and will be highly visible and will be called the HOST NATION WELCOME ZONE. The Zone will highlight the importance of Space to the UK- economy, jobs, skills, benefits, careers- all the Case for Space key messages.

The Zone will be the central point for socialising and marketing Space in the UK. The area is 54sm . It will be manned by UK SEDS. As well as giving companies access to a major focal point, your company will have high visibility and the possibility to meet on the booth any high profile or influential visitors to the IAC; likely attendees include the UK Space Minister, 1st Minister of Scotland, the Heads of the world space agencies, VIP press and visitors including possibly Sir Richard Branson. Additionally there will be a number of overseas delegations who will be visiting the Zone and the possibility of briefings by participants to visiting embassy based commercial officers from UKTI.

To take part in this excellent marketing opportunity there is a flat fee of £2k per organisation or group, regardless of whether they are exhibiting separately.

The flat fee entitles you to:

  • Company logo displayed prominently on the Zone;
  • Company literature on display (one brochure per company);
  • Staff briefing for those manning the stand with a data sheet with your company profile (you will be given a template);
  • Inclusion in a flyer/data sheet to be handed out on the Zone;
  • Some form of identity (eg badge) for your stand personnel stating you are part of the Host Nation;
  • Opportunity to meet the VIPs, key players and visitors;
  • Be part of the family of UK organisations and companies at IAC promoting the importance and prominence of space in UK economic and domestic life.

There will be a menu of options that would incur an additional fee:
  • Plasma- POA
  • Graphic- POA
  • Your model or exhibit on display (£500)

There will also be the opportunity for additional sponsorship activity on the Zone:
  • Tea/coffee each day
  • Drinks reception

We would consider any other suggestions you may have.
